He also praised Cambodia's successful hosting of the Mekong Sub-Regional Environment Ministers' Meeting in September 2024 and its preparations for the 2024 Ottawa Treaty Conference on Landmines.

The Prime Minister commended Cambodia’s socio-economic achievements, political stability, and consistent economic growth, highlighting its elevated role in regional and international affairs.

The discussions underscored the growing cooperation between the Lao and Cambodian National Assemblies, characterized by regular exchanges and visits.

Looking forward, they discussed plans to boost collaboration in trade, investment, tourism, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connectivity.

Key upcoming events include the 3rd Meeting of the Joint Committee on Border Security and Peace, to be hosted in Laos, and the 8th Joint Border Commission Meeting, to be held in Cambodia in early 2025.

Prime Minister Sonexay expressed Laos' gratitude for Cambodia's support during its ASEAN Chairmanship, which contributed to the success of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and the 45th General Assembly in Vientiane.

The visit reinforces the deep bonds of friendship and mutual respect between Laos and Cambodia, reaffirming their shared commitment to regional stability, peace, and prosperity.
