After crossing Hainan, the typhoon is forecasted to weaken into a depression as it moves through northern Vietnam and Laos, respectively. The storm will cause widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in various regions of Laos from September 6-9, 2024. Phongsaly, Huaphan, Xieng Khuang, Oudomxay, Bokeo, Luang Namtha, Luang Prabang, Xayaboury, Vientiane, Xaysomboun, Vientiane Province, Borikhamxay, Khammuan, and Savannakhet are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain.
