ຂປລ (KPL) The sweet tamarind festival related to the Visit Laos Year 2024 was officially held in Sanakham district, Vientiane Province on February 3.

(KPL) The sweet tamarind festival related to the Visit Laos Year 2024 was officially held in Sanakham district, Vientiane Province on February 3.

The sweet tamarind festival started on January 27 and will end on February 4, with aim to preserve culture, maintain good traditions of nation and tribes, it is also related to creating activities to welcome the Visit Lao Year 2024, Sanakham district is a prominent reputation in the cultivation of sweet tamarind, a unique product of district. it becomes the gift of visitors from Sanakham district, Mr. Keo Phimmavong,  Cheif of Sanakham district said at opening ceremony.

There are 275 hectares of tamarind tree with capacity production of 389 tons yearly and estimated income of 9.7 billion kip.
