Ministries urged to attach attention to stabilizing macro economy

ຂປລ (KPL) Prime Minister has called on relevant ministries to continue to attach attention to stabilizing the macro economy with a focus placed on the payment of public debts, exchange rate management and imposing concrete measures to prevent goods prices from sky rocketing from now until the end of Lao New Year, to be celebrated in mid April.

Giving closing remarks at the extraordinary meeting of the government on Thursday, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone called on the ministries to prepare for the celebration of the 68th anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and use the celebration as an opportunity to promote solidarity and Party’s leadership in creating a comprehensive transformation in public governance.

He asked the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to urge Laos-China Railway to speed up arranging immigration police booths at train stations to facilitate the flow of Laos-China train passengers.

The extraordinary meeting of the government was held on Mar 15-16 at Prime Minister’s Office, Vientiane under the presidency of Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Ministers, representatives of the National Assembly, and cabinet members.

The meeting also approved nine draft laws on Health (revised), commercial banks (revised), aquatic animals and fisheries (revised), wildlife (revised), publishing and distribution (revised), state compensation (new), protection of child rights and interests (revised), military court (revised), and employment (new).
