ຂປລ (KPL) Deputy Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has been elected as new Prime Minister succeeding Phankham Viphavanh. The nomination of Sonexay as the ninth Prime Minister of Laos won the most votes at the 4th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly this afternoon.
