The Lao Red Cross distributed relief supplies worth more than 327 million kip to 266 flood-affected families in 18 villages across Savannakhet and Saravane provinces from October 20–23.
A delegation led by Lao Red Cross President Khamlavanh Chanthalavanh delivered assistance to 11 villages in Xayboury District, Savannakhet Province, and seven villages in Lakhone Pheng District, Saravane Province.The relief packages included essential food, household supplies and hygiene products, such as noodles, canned fish, cooking oil, glutinous rice, soap, medicine, toothbrushes, sanitary napkins and towels.Khamlavanh said the assistance would help affected families meet immediate needs and restore their livelihoods. He also encouraged residents to strengthen household food security, increase production during the coming dry season and build self-reliance to support poverty reduction and community development.
