A delegation from the Ministry of Public Security, led by Major General Äen Ounanongnouth, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Director General of the General Department of Police, attended the ASEAN High-Level Meeting on Cooperation in Handling Criminal Fugitives in Hanoi, Viet Nam, on September 30.

(KPL) The meeting provided a platform for ASEAN member states to exchange views, experiences and lessons learned and strengthen international cooperation in addressing criminal fugitives across the region.
Participants highlighted the importance of close cooperation, timely and accurate information sharing, and capacity building for officials responsible for handling criminal fugitive cases.
The meeting endorsed in principle the ASEAN Joint Plan of Action on Enhanced Cooperation in Combating Criminal Fugitives (2026–2035) and adopted a joint declaration.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Deputy Minister and heads of delegations from ASEAN member states and the ASEAN Secretariat paid a courtesy call on Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the meeting and said its successful outcome would contribute to strengthening regional cooperation and improving efforts to address criminal fugitives more effectively.
