Mr. Wang Xiaohong, Member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Public Security of China, met with Mr. Vanthong Kongmany, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Minister of Public Security of Laos, in Beijing on September 6, 2026.
(KPL) Mr. Wang Xiaohong, Member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Public Security of China, met with Mr. Vanthong Kongmany, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Minister of Public Security of Laos, in Beijing on September 6, 2026.
Mr. Wang said China is ready to work with Laos to effectively implement the common understandings reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, strengthen planning for bilateral cooperation, and deepen cooperation in key areas.
These areas include combating online gambling and telecommunications fraud, suppressing drug trafficking, tracking and apprehending fugitives and recovering illicit assets, and maintaining border security. He also called for stronger security cooperation along the Laos-China Railway to contribute to building a China-Laos community with a shared future in the new era.
Mr. Vanthong expressed appreciation to China for its long-standing support and assistance to Laos and affirmed Laos' readiness to work with China to deepen law enforcement and security cooperation and further advance bilateral relations.
