Authorities in Hinboun District have officially announced the establishment of six new sub-districts, known locally as Ta Seng, during a ceremony held on April 21, 2026.

(KPL) Authorities in Hinboun District have officially announced the establishment of six new sub-districts, known locally as Ta Seng, during a ceremony held on April 21, 2026.
The event was presided over by Xaysana Khotphouthone, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Khamsing Olavan, Secretary of the District Party Committee, along with provincial and district officials.
During the ceremony, Nikon Khoudmany, Chairman of the Hinboun District Administration Committee, outlined the structure of the six newly established sub-districts.
He said Phontiou Sub-district comprises 21 villages with a population of 11,238, including 5,667 women. Khamkeo Sub-district includes 20 villages with a population of 10,526, including 5,332 women. Hinboun Sub-district comprises 21 villages and has a population of 14,951, including 7,337 women.
He added that Hat Yai Sub-district includes 17 villages with a population of 7,105, including 3,411 women. Pung Neua Sub-district comprises 9 villages with a population of 7,584, including 3,886 women. Lao Kha Sub-district includes 12 villages with a population of 6,992, including 3,406 women.
Officials said Hinboun District now oversees 100 villages with a total population of 58,396 people, including 29,039 women.
They said the district is home to four main ethnic groups. Lao people account for 94.80 percent of the population, followed by Phou Thai at 3.91 percent, Saek at 0.75 percent, and Tai at 0.52 percent.
Authorities said the reorganization is aimed at improving administrative efficiency and strengthening local governance by bringing services closer to the people.
