(KPL) Laos’ Supreme People’s Court has pledged to strengthen transparency, accelerate case resolution, and reinforce public trust in the justice system as it reviewed its 2025 performance and outlined priorities for 2026 at a national meeting held on February 10.
The meeting was presided over by Viengthong Siphandone, Member of the Party Central Secretariat and President of the Supreme People’s Court, with participation from leaders of regional, capital, district, and military courts nationwide.
Officials reviewed case management results and examined unresolved cases, focusing on the consistency of judicial procedures across three levels of adjudication — first instance, appeal, and cassation — as well as legal gaps that may contribute to prolonged proceedings.
Viengthong Siphandone said the court continues to strengthen its role in overseeing judicial work in accordance with the Constitution and relevant laws, aiming to enhance the quality, transparency, and efficiency of adjudication while reinforcing public confidence in the justice system.
She also called on court leaders to conduct in-depth reviews, identify root causes of institutional challenges, and propose practical solutions to improve judicial performance.
