(KPL) A delegation from the National Election Committee (NEC) visited Bokeo Province on January 21, 2026, to review and encourage preparations for the upcoming elections of the 10th National Assembly and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils.
The delegation was led by Mr. Let Xayaphone, President of the Lao Federation of Trade Unions and an NEC member, and included Maj. Gen. Vongsack Phanthavong, a member of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
The visit aimed to receive progress reports and discuss successes, challenges, and future plans to ensure the elections achieve four key objectives: 100% Voter Turnout: Ensuring every eligible citizen exercises their right to vote; 100% Accuracy: Guaranteeing the correctness of all electoral procedures; 100% Security: Maintaining total peace and security throughout the election period; and 100% Readiness: Having all logistical and administrative elements fully prepared.
Mr. Chomsy Lattanapan, President of the Bokeo Provincial People’s Council and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee, reported that the province has successfully completed the first two phases of the electoral roadmap.
Key Preparation Statistics for Bokeo Province:
There are 8 candidates for the National Assembly elections and 35 for the Provincial People’s Council elections in the province.
Some 190 polling stations have been established across the province with 267 standard boxes and 24 mobile ballot boxes prepared.
