New toll rates for the Vientiane–Vang Vieng Expressway will come into force at 00:00 on January 1, 2026, according to an announcement by the Lao-China Joint Expressway Development Company.
The company stated that toll charges are collected in strict compliance with the feasibility study report approved by the Lao government, as well as the US dollar–denominated rates stipulated in the Concession Agreement governing the expressway’s operation.
Motorists are advised that detailed information on the updated toll structure is displayed on official notice boards along the expressway to ensure transparency and ease of reference.
The operator also confirmed that the exchange rate between the Lao kip and the US dollar will remain unchanged at 20,777 KIP (USD 1).
In its statement, the company expressed appreciation to the public for their continued understanding and cooperation, reaffirming its commitment to improving service quality and providing safer, more convenient travel conditions for all road users.
