(KPL) On July 23, The Pakkading District Administration Office, Bolikhamsay province hosted a delegation from Bueng Khong Long District, Bueng Kan Province, Thailand, to strengthen cooperation on Lao-Thai border management.
The meeting was led by Mr. Dao Duangphachan, Acting Deputy Chief of Pakkading District, and Mr. Thawi Sinnarong, Chief of Bueng Khong Long District. Both delegations discussed multiple cross-border issues, including maintaining peace and order along the border, combating illegal trade, exploring the possibility of establishing a traditional border crossing between Ban Khon Khuang (Lao PDR) and Ban Tha Dok Kham (Thailand), sharing information on wild elephant movements across the Mekong River to ensure public safety and enhancing emergency response mechanisms and ease of movement across the border.
The visit aimed to enhance mutual understanding, share experiences, and promote long-term cooperation for the safety and well-being of both communities.
