(Prensa Latina/KPL) Cuba’s province of Matanzas will host the 3rd Mother Earth Environmental Festival as of Sunday, May 4, to promote love for biodiversity from an artistic and ecological approach.
According to the website www.radio26.cu, the event will be organized by the Cocomar Group and the Ecologito project, and is aimed at acknowledging Mother Earth’s role in the life of humans.
Maryvel Delgado, general coordinator of Cocomar, explained that the event will unite culture and environment from an inclusive and creative viewpoint that seeks unity and cooperation in caring for the environment.
She said the activities started at Las Palmas Cultural Center at 10:00 hours (local time), with the participation of children from local socio-cultural projects and under the guidance of the characters Nana Natura and Espantarin.
Delgado said that the Festival will feature an ecological moment at the El Tenis beach in this city, with a fashion show in which children and youngsters will parade costumes made of recycled materials as a symbol of commitment to protecting the environment and sustainable creativity.
As in previous years, the event will include a craft fair and focus on biodiversity on Earth as a call to recognize the value of all forms of life through an educational and festive experience, he said.
