(KPL) In response to Myanmar's devastating earthquake, the leadership families of Lao PDR provided humanitarian assistance, officially handing over a donation of cash and essential supplies during a ceremony at the Ministry of National Defense on April 1.
Mrs Naly Sisoulith, wife of the President, spearheaded the initiative by presenting financial contributions and relief supplies to the Ministry of National Defense, where the aid was received by Lieutenant General Somphone Mittaphone and senior officials.
The relief effort included a donation of 328 million Lao Kip from the party-state leadership families, an additional 500 million Kip from PSL Service Sole Co., Ltd., and essential supplies valued at 150 million Kip.

In his remarks, Lieutenant General Somphone expressed gratitude for the generous support, highlighting the strong ties between Laos and Myanmar. He emphasized that the assistance reflects a deep spirit of solidarity and longstanding friendship between the two nations.
"This humanitarian support demonstrates the sincere goodwill and unity between our countries. It reaffirms the strong relationship we have built over the years," he stated. He also extended best wishes for the continued prosperity of those who contributed to the relief effort.
The donation underscores Laos' commitment to regional solidarity and cooperation, as the country stands with Myanmar during this challenging time.
