(KPL) On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the Presidential Palace, Vice President Pany Yathortou received a courtesy call from Turkish Ambassador to Laos, Orhan Işık, as he concluded his diplomatic mission in the Lao PDR.

On this occasion, Vice President Yathortou extended a warm welcome, expressed appreciation, and commended Ambassador Işık for successfully fulfilling his role as Ambassador to Laos.

She acknowledged his dedication to strengthening the longstanding cooperation and mutual assistance between Laos and Türkiye, which has grown stronger over time.

The Vice President wished the Ambassador success in his future endeavors and a safe return to his country.

In response, Ambassador Işık expressed gratitude to Vice President Yathortou for the warm reception and thanked all Lao authorities for their support in facilitating his mission, contributing to the enhancement of Laos-Türkiye relations.

Laos and Türkiye established diplomatic relations on June 26, 1958, marking 66 years of cooperation. Both countries have maintained strong ties, supporting each other on regional and international platforms. High-level exchanges of congratulatory messages and well-wishes between the two nations' leaders have been a tradition on important national occasions.

In 2023, for the first time, Laos and Türkiye exchanged congratulatory messages at the ministerial level to celebrate the anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
