(KPL) Betagro Public Company Limited (BTG), a Thailand-based leader in the agri-food and industrial sectors, has officially launched Laos' first animal feed factory. The facility, representing an investment exceeding 650 million Thai baht, integrates cutting-edge technology for efficient production and sustainable resource management.
With an annual production capacity of 108,000 tons, the factory is poised to address the rising demand for animal feed in Laos. It aims to reduce dependence on imports from Thailand, enhance cost efficiency, and drive sustainable economic growth in the region.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Worawut Vanitkunbodhi, Chief Operating Officer of Betagro Group, highlighted the company’s commitment to advancing the global agri-food sector. “Betagro operates fully integrated businesses catering to domestic and international markets in over 20 countries. Our investments in Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia underscore our focus on leveraging advanced technologies to deliver high-quality products,” he said.
The factory employs sophisticated systems, including SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and SAP, to ensure precision in managing raw materials and production processes. Its production line covers feed for pigs, egg-laying chickens, and broiler chickens, maintaining stringent quality standards while incorporating dust and odor control measures to mitigate environmental impacts.
This facility is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency and safety of animal feed production in Laos. By prioritizing the use of local raw materials, it will not only boost the Lao economy but also create employment opportunities and strengthen local communities.
In addition, the project aligns with Betagro's sustainability objectives by delivering safe, nutritious, and high-quality feed products to Lao consumers. This initiative is a key step towards advancing the country’s economic, social, and environmental development.
The opening of this modern facility marks a milestone for Laos, paving the way for innovation and growth in its agricultural sector.
