ຂປລ (KPL) Luang Prabang is a charming town with a beautiful culture, which domestic and foreign tourists consider as a tourist destination. Luang Prabang is a world heritage town of UNESCO that is full of natural, historical and cultural tourist attractions such as Kuang Si waterfall, Xieng Thong Temple, Phou Si mountain, National Museum, Pak Ou or Tham Ting cave, and Tat Houay Khua waterfall. In addition, there are activities that are unique to the people of Luang Prabang, such as wearing traditional clothing, food, and the lifestyle of the local people.

In addition, there are activities that are unique to the people of Luang Prabang, such as wearing traditional clothing, food, and the lifestyle of the local people.

Up to now, Luang Prabang province has many popular tourist sites that tourists from all over the world consider as tourism destinations. The province has more than 200 tourist sites. Among them, there are more than 100 natural tourist spots, more than 70 cultural spots and more than 30 historical spots.

In 2023, over one million tourists visited Luang Prabang, an increase of 491,979 people compared to recent year. In this, there are 265,102 domestic tourists compared to recent year, a decrease of 15,721 people and 764,596 international tourists, an increase of 507,700 people, the average cost of tourists totaled 559 million USD, compared to recent year, an increase of 340 million USD. It is expected that the year 2024 will attract almost three million tourists to Luang Prabang. Including the domestic and International visitors, generate income expected one billion and 645 million USD. In order to support tourists, Luang Prabang provincial leadership has focused on improving small-scale infrastructure for tourism, building capacity in the tourism sector, raising awareness, disseminating regulations and legislation, leveling the standards of the Lao PDR and ASEAN standards. The province has 106 tourism companies, 100 hotels-resorts, with 2,732 rooms, 5,579 beds; 416 guest houses, 384 restaurants, 45 entertainment and karaoke shops, 41 massage-spa shops and 768 tour guides, 162 women.

In 2024, Luang Prabang prepares to organize various events, the Boat Racing Festival, the 2nd Luang Prabang Really Beautiful Festival that reflects Luang Prabang, traditional food festival, handicrafts exhibition, demonstrations of activities related to the unique lifestyle of the province, traditional music contest, cycling activities to preserve culture, (Lai Hua Fai) light boat festival.

There are also various activities such as agricultural and nature tourism in Phou Khoun District; Kin Jieng traditional festival of the Hmong tribe and Khmu tribe's traditional New Year Festival in city of Luang Prabang, Traditional festival of the Leu tribe, Pak Ou district, Exhibition of handicrafts and pottery at Ban Chan Neua village, Chomphet District; Boat Racing Festival in Xieng Ngeun District, and others.
