(KPL) Almost 50 women from the Lao New Agency visited the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum last Friday to learn about the virtues of the late President Kaysone Phomvihane.
The study tour was held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the upcoming 40th anniversary of National Day.
The late President Kaysone Phomvihane led the Lao people to proclaim the establishment of Lao Army Foundation’s Day on 20 January 1949 and then established the Lao People’s Party (current known as the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party) on 22 March 1955.
Under the great leadership of the late President Kaysone Phomvihane, the Lao PDR was established on 2 December 1975. He dedicated his life to the revolutionary movement and led Lao people in carrying out two strategies of national protection and development. He passed away on 21 November 1992.
The late President Kaysone Phomvihane was born on 13 December, 1920. He was a great patriot, national hero and respected leader of all ethnic groups of Lao People. He was also a genial prominent revolutionary leader on the world stage and a friend of nations all over the world.
Because of his virtue, revolutionary activities, and dedication, Lao has enjoyed stability since its founding. As a result, the Politburo Party Central Committee made the decision on 16 December 1992 to build the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum. Construction of museum began on 13 December 1997 and was opened to the public on 13 December 2000 to celebrate what would have been his 80th birthday.
