The Department of Foreign Affairs of Attapeu Province and the Department of External Relations of Quang Ngai Province, Viet Nam, held a meeting in Quang Ngai Province on September 8, 2026 to exchange experience and strengthen cooperation in foreign affairs.
(KPL) The Department of Foreign Affairs of Attapeu Province and the Department of External Relations of Quang Ngai Province, Viet Nam, held a meeting in Quang Ngai Province on September 8, 2026 to exchange experience and strengthen cooperation in foreign affairs.
The meeting was co-chaired by Khamphan Keomany, Director of the Attapeu Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs, and Nguyen Van Dieu, Director of the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of External Relations, with officials from both sides in attendance.
The two sides exchanged experience in coordinating foreign affairs, advising provincial leadership, managing international cooperation, attracting investment and sharing information among relevant departments. They also discussed joint efforts to promote the potential and strengths of both provinces and attract investment in priority sectors.
Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination, strengthen delegation exchanges, organise joint activities and monitor the implementation of cooperation to ensure practical results.
On the occasion, the two departments signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing a framework for coordination, information exchange, experience sharing and cooperation in foreign affairs.
Khamphan Keomany said the meeting, experience exchange and signing of the MOU marked another step in strengthening relations between Attapeu and Quang Ngai provinces and contributing to the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Laos and Viet Nam.
In 2026, Attapeu Province received more than 12.3 billion Vietnamese dong in grant assistance from Quang Ngai Province for three projects: a dormitory at the Phoukeua International Border Checkpoint valued at 5 billion dong; a school hall at valued at more than 6.8 billion dong; and social assistance worth 500 million dong.
