Laos-China Youth Development Cooperation Association Donates Relief Supplies to Luang Prabang

KPL - Asean 2024 The Laos-China Youth Development Cooperation Association, represented by its President Wang Longde, handed over humanitarian relief supplies to the Luang Prabang Provincial Disaster Management Committee at the provincial Department of Labour and Social Welfare on Aug 5.

 

(KPL) The Laos-China Youth Development Cooperation Association, represented by its President Wang Longde, handed over humanitarian relief supplies to the Luang Prabang Provincial Disaster Management Committee at the provincial Department of Labour and Social Welfare on Aug 5.
The donation package was received by Bounleuam Manivong, Vice Governor of Luang Prabang and President of the Provincial Disaster Management Committee, in the presence of representatives from relevant authorities.
The relief package included drinking water, instant noodles, and blankets, with a total value of 50 million kip.
On this occasion, provincial leaders expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Laos-China Youth Development Cooperation Association for providing timely assistance to affected communities. They also pledged that the Luang Prabang Provincial Disaster Management Committee would ensure that the donated items are distributed fairly and efficiently to people affected by natural disasters in various districts of the province.
The assistance comes in the aftermath of prolonged heavy rainfall triggered by Tropical Depression Wipha between July 22–23, which caused widespread flooding and landslides in northern and central parts of the country, including the provinces of Xayaboury, Xieng Khuang, Xaysomboun, Huaphan, Luang Prabang, Khammuan, and Vientiane.
