(KPL) Laos has been named the world’s cheapest country to travel to in 2025, according to Time Out, a UK-based magazine.

The ranking, based on a study conducted by the price comparison site HelloSafe, places Kazakhstan, Rwanda, and Ghana in second, third, and fourth places respectively.

Other budget-friendly destinations in the top ten include Mongolia, Armenia, Burkina Faso, Georgia, Mali, and Myanmar.

The study evaluated the average daily spend per traveler across 131 countries, taking into account costs such as accommodation, food, and transport.

According to HelloSafe, the average daily spend in Laos—the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia—can be as low as £12.30 (approximately €14.60 or US$16).

Meanwhile, travelers can tour Kazakhstan with an average daily spend of US$20.18, Rwanda at US$21.38, and Ghana at US$22.58.

The ranking highlights Laos as an attractive destination for budget-conscious travelers looking for cultural richness, natural beauty, and affordability in 2025.
