(KPL) Attapeu authorities announced on Dec 24 the launch of Visit Laos Year 2018 and the celebration of Xaysetthathirath King Festival in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.
Present at the launch event, held at Thaphaxay Temple in Xaysettha distirct, also included former President Choummaly Sayasone, Attapeu Governor Let Xayaphone, representatives of neighbouring provinces, and other domestic and foreign guests.
Since January 2018, a series of festivals have been orgaised and celebrated in the southern province to promote tourism including traditional Rice Barn Gate Opening Festival and Palum Festival of the Inthi minority in Sanamxay district, Folk Rice Festival in Vangyang village of Phouvong district, and End of Buddhist Lent Festival in Samakhyxay district, among others, according to Vice Governor of Attapeu Province Ounla Xayasith.
