Khong District has confirmed it is fully prepared to conduct the February 22, 2026 elections for the 10th National Assembly and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils, with comprehensive outreach, security deployment and measures to ensure inclusive participation.
(KPL) Khong District has confirmed it is fully prepared to conduct the February 22, 2026 elections for the 10th National Assembly and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils, with comprehensive outreach, security deployment and measures to ensure inclusive participation.
Mr. Chanthanongsin Chanthaphim, Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the District Electoral Committee, said local authorities are mobilizing voters aged 18 and above to exercise their rights in accordance with Lao law.
A total of 57 polling units have been established across the district. Khong District has a population of 104,171, including 64,102 eligible voters.
Authorities are disseminating election information through social media, district radio and village loudspeakers across all 144 villages.
To ensure broad participation, mobile ballot boxes will serve elderly and disabled voters unable to travel, while coordinated security forces will be deployed at every polling unit to maintain order and transparency.
