On 2 December 2025, Mr. Wang Huning, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a high-level Party-State delegation from the People’s Republic of China on an inspection visit to the Laos–China Railway Station in Vientiane.
(KPL)On 2 December 2025, Mr. Wang Huning, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a high-level Party-State delegation from the People’s Republic of China on an inspection visit to the Laos–China Railway Station in Vientiane.
The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, Member of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee and President of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC), along with senior Lao officials. The visit formed part of the delegation’s official friendly visit to the Lao PDR from 1–3 December, which coincided with the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Lao PDR and the 4th Anniversary of the Laos–China Railway.
During the inspection, Mr. Wang and the delegation toured the station’s exhibition area, where they viewed photo displays highlighting the performance and achievements of the Laos–China Railway Company. The exhibits showcased progress in freight and passenger transport, operational improvements, and overall management since the railway began operations.
The delegation also observed daily station activities, visited key operational zones, and monitored dispatching procedures. The visit concluded with the observation of a special train departing for the People’s Republic of China.
Officials from both sides reaffirmed the strategic importance of the Laos–China Railway as a landmark project of bilateral cooperation, contributing to enhanced connectivity, economic growth, and the continued strengthening of the Laos–China comprehensive strategic partnership.
