(KPL) Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam, accompanied by a high-ranking government delegation, arrived in Vientiane this morning.
The delegation received a warm welcome from Mr. Bouakhong Nammavong, Minister and Head of the Prime Minister’s Office, along with other representatives of the Lao government.
The official visit follows an invitation from Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and coincides with the 47th Annual Meeting of the Laos-Vietnam Intergovernmental Committee on Bilateral Cooperation, scheduled for Jan 9–10, 2025. The meeting aims to strengthen the longstanding great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
During his visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is set to hold discussions with senior Lao leaders, including President Thongloun Sisoulith, National Assembly President Xaysomphone Phomvihane, and other former senior leaders of the Lao PDR.
Key events on the agenda include the Laos-Vietnam Investment Cooperation Forum, the official launch of bilateral retail payment services using QR codes, and the groundbreaking ceremony for the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park at Dong Mak Khai.
This visit underscores the enduring partnership and shared commitment of Laos and Vietnam to fostering mutual development and enhancing regional cooperation, further reinforcing their close ties across all sectors.
