Phathatphon-Stone House Expected to be Listed as Local Heritage Site of Savannakhet

ຂປລ Late last month, the Lao Buddhist Fellowship Organization of Xayphouthong District held a technical consultation meeting to discuss preparations for nominating Phathatphon-Stone House as a local heritage site in Savannakhet Province.

 

(KPL) Late last month, the Lao Buddhist Fellowship Organization of Xayphouthong District held a technical consultation meeting to discuss preparations for nominating Phathatphon-Stone House as a local heritage site in Savannakhet Province.

The meeting was attended by Phra Ajan Sonepheth Ngonelasasing, Abbot of Phathatphon Temple; Ms. Daovone Xaysoulien, Governor of Xayphouthong District, and representatives from relevant authorities.
“This meeting aims to discuss technical details regarding the cultural management of Phathatphon-Stone House, which is a key element in the tourism strategy of Savannakhet Province, particularly in Xayphouthong District,” Ms. Daovone said. 


She noted that preservation efforts for Phathatphon and Stone House over recent years have been relatively commendable.
Participants agreed on the need to establish conservation and management boundaries for the site’s archaeological monuments and structures. Additionally, they discussed mapping Phathatphon-Stone House, determining the dimensions of the stupa, construction techniques, materials to be used, and the renovation process.
