Vice President Attends 4th Eurasian Women's Forum

ຂປລ On September 18, 2024, Vice President, Pany Yathortou, along with her delegation, participated in the 4th Eurasian Women's Forum held in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The forum, chaired by Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia, gathered participants from over 100 countries, including leaders of women's organizations and female leaders from various sectors.

(KPL) On September 18, 2024, Vice President, Pany Yathortou, along with her delegation, participated in the 4th Eurasian Women's Forum held in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

The forum, chaired by Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia, gathered participants from over 100 countries, including leaders of women's organizations and female leaders from various sectors.

This year’s forum was held under the theme, " Women for Strengthening Trust and Global Cooperation" and aimed to provide a platform for discussions and the exchange of views on the role of women in various fields, from fostering peace and trust to promoting economic development in the era of technological innovation. 

Vice President Pany Yathortou delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the importance of culture as a key driver of development, highlighting its dual value—both material and spiritual—created by humanity.

She underlined the significant role women play in the preservation, protection, and promotion of the cultural diversity that defines each nation, including Laos. Her speech also called attention to the vital contribution of women in sustaining national traditions and unity, stressing the need to safeguard the cultural heritage that reflects the unique identity of the Lao people.

The Vice President noted the opportunities and challenges that arise from global cultural exchanges and called for effective policy implementation, mechanisms, and measures to protect and enhance cultural capabilities. 

She highlighted the importance of integrating cultural preservation with innovation, ensuring that Lao traditions endure while embracing modern global developments.

The Eurasian Women’s Forum is an influential international platform that enables women leaders from all continents to engage in a dialogue and adopt joint decisions on key issues concerning international cooperation, sustainable economic development, the assimilation of new technologies, a healthy lifestyle, environmental safety, and the promotion of social charitable projects.
