(KPL)The launching ceremony of the Visit Laos Year 2024 in Kasy District, Vientiane Province, in connection with the Aromatic Coffee-Sweet Melon Festival, was held recently.

Present at the event were Vientiane Governor, Mr Khamphan Sitthidampha, business representatives and locals.

Mr Kham-ouan Suvanthong, Deputy Mayor of Kasy District, highligted Kasy District's special points and tourism potential due to its geography near Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang, in the Road 13 North, Kasy- Nan district Road and the railway connects to the northern provinces through China.

It is a district blessed with natural scenery of mountains, forests, abundant and beautiful rivers, such as the natural scenery of Chao, Noum, Koy cliffs, rivers of Lik and Kai. In addition, each tribes also have fine culture and traditions that have been poured down to the young generation.

In addition, preparations have been made in various aspects such as the development of new tourist attractions, improvement of some infrastructure and facilities, the quality of hotels, restaurants and tourism service activities. Currently, there are 40 hotels, 44 restaurants, six entertainment places, and 23 tourist attractions.

It is expected that in 2024, it will be able to welcome 15,500 tourists.
