Champasak Previews Performance Troupe for National Games Closing Ceremony, Ready to Host in 2028

KPL Champasak province showcased its mass performance troupe that will perform at the closing ceremony of the 12th National Games in Vientiane to receive the symbolic torch as the host of the 13th National Games in 2028.

(KPL) Champasak province showcased its mass performance troupe that will perform at the closing ceremony of the 12th National Games in Vientiane to receive the symbolic torch as the host of the 13th National Games in 2028.

Mr. Alounxay Sounnalath, Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Souksavanh Vilayvong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, along with the provincial leadership and masses, attended to watch the preview of the performance troupe.

The performance preview took place on November 21, 2025, at the Provincial Stadium (KM 2) in Pakse City. It was organized by the Provincial Department of Education and Sports in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

The troupe's training began on November 15, 2025. The content of the performance emphasizes a warm welcome to Champasak province. The dances, songs, mascot, and slogan were all selected through competitions, with the winners adopted as representatives in the overall performance, which consists of four shows namely the rhythm of Lam Si Phan Don, inviting tourists to Champasak; song Champasak Progresses; musical show of Nok Sida (Sida Bird), a central character in Lao folklore; and Gon Seung (a type of celebration poem), inviting people to join in unity.

On this occasion, Mr. Alounxay Sounnalath commended the responsible committees, the choreographers and composers, and the performers. He also encouraged relevant parties to dedicate themselves and participate with responsibility, aiming for success in preparation to host the 13th National Games in Champasak Province in the next three years.
