(KPL/Yonhap) The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI), a major Republic of Korean lobby group, said Tuesday it has held a meeting with its French counterpart in Paris to exchange views on global trade issues, including growing uncertainty from U.S. trade policy and other areas of potential cooperation.

The FKI said it co-hosted the second Korea-France Future Dialogue with the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF) at Station F, the world's largest startup campus located in the French capital. The bilateral private sector consultative platform was launched last year to promote long-term strategic cooperation between the two countries' business communities.

More than 50 Korean corporate representatives from around 20 companies, including Hyundai Motor Co., LG Chem Co. and Korean Air Lines Co., attended the meeting. The French side was represented by around 70 executives from major local companies, including Air Liquide, TotalEnergies and Airbus.

The two sides highlighted the strategic importance of economic collaboration between the two countries amid global industrial and geopolitical shifts. They also adopted a joint declaration outlining a shared vision for future private sector cooperation, including expanding bilateral collaboration in future strategic industries such as aerospace, energy and startups.
