Xieng Khuang: new buildings, new roads handed over to local communities

KPL (KPL) The Mahaxay Bridge and Road Construction Company on Mar 14 handed over six new buildings and a newly paved road to Ngan village cluster in Khoun district, Xieng Khuang Province. The total cost of the buildings and road is over 100 billion kip (over US$12 million).

(KPL) The Mahaxay Bridge and Road Construction Company on Mar 14 handed over six new buildings and a newly paved road to Ngan village cluster in Khoun district, Xieng Khuang Province.  The total cost of the buildings and road is over 100 billion kip (over US$12 million).

The new buildings, worth almost 10 billion kip, include two dormitories, a school, a village office, a village hall and a garage.

The newly built gravel road, which is 6 meter wide and 34 km in length, connects 11 communities in the Ngan village cluster.  The cost of the road is 91 billion kip.

On the same day, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for new projects including the double-surface pavement of a 9.8-km road in the Ngan village cluster, which is worth 110 billion kip, and a 34-km road running between the Ngan village cluster and the Yamchaleun village cluster in Thathom district, Xaysomboun Province, which will cost 236 billion kip.  

The two new projects will be constructed by the Mahaxay Bridge and Road Construction Company.  

The objective of the new developments is to upgrade the rural area into a small district.

The handover ceremony of these projects was held in Ngan in Khoun district of Xieng Khuang Province between President of the Mahaxay Bridge and Road Construction Company, Mr Khammany Phimmahaxay, and Chief of Khoun district, Phonemala Vannahak.

The event was witnessed by Xieng Khuang Governor Mr Somkod Mangnormek, Vice Minister of Education and Sports, Dr Kongsy Sengmany and representatives of relevant sectors.
