Xaysomboun Province is expecting GDP growth of 11% according to next year’s plan. GDP in the province is expected to be over 800 billion kip (almost US$99 million). Per capita income in the province is expected to rise to an average of 9.6 million kip (US$1,185), according to the Governor of Xaysomboun Province, Mr. SombathYialiher.
He said that the agriculture and forestry sector is expected to grow about 9% and cover approximately 40% of the GDP, the industry sector is expected to increase by about 10% and account for about 32% of the GDP, and the service sector is expected to grow by about 14% and account for approximately 30% of GDP growth in the province.

The Administration Office of Xaysomboun Province reviewed the implementation of the government’s projects in the first 6 month on 31 Mar 2015.

Around 10% of families in the province will remain under the poverty line with villages in the province expected to develop an average of 12% according to next year’s plan, said Mr Sombath.
Currently Xaysomboun Province, in cooperation with Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism and a songwriter are preparing a tourism promotion song and visit to Xaysomboun Province later in 2015, according to Mr Sombath.
Governor of Xaysomboun Province said that the National Assembly (NA) has approved over 2.5 billion kip for 202 Government Projects in Xaysomboun Province for the fiscal year 2014-2015.
Xaysomboun Province still has thirty poor villages and over 6,000 model development families and 34 model cultural villages, and 47 tourist sites, according to the Xaysomboun Governor.
The Administration Office of Xaysomboun Province reviewed the implementation work of the government’s projects for the first six month of the fiscal year on 31 March 2015.
