National Assembly Candidates Campaign in Viengkham District, Luang Prabang

ຂປລ On Feb. 9, 2026. Candidates for the 10th National Assembly representing Constituency 6 in Luang Prabang Province met voters in Viengkham Village, Viengkham District, on Monday as part of ongoing nationwide campaign activities ahead of the Feb. 22 election.

(KPL) On Feb. 9, 2026. Candidates for the 10th National Assembly representing Constituency 6 in Luang Prabang Province met voters in Viengkham Village, Viengkham District, on Monday as part of ongoing nationwide campaign activities ahead of the Feb. 22 election.

The delegation was led by Mr. Bounleum Manivong, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Committee. Other candidates attending included Mr. Samnan Sonthany, Ms. Chandy Yengvue, Ms. Kingnakhone Chanthakoumman, Mr. Soulixay Hongsakhone, Col. Vilasine Mittaphone, and Ms. Vongphachanh Vongpadith.

Seven candidates for the Provincial People’s Council for Viengkham District also joined the event, along with district officials and local residents.

During the meeting, candidates presented their backgrounds, experience, and policy priorities, aiming to help voters better understand their qualifications. Organizers also introduced the biographies of other candidates campaigning in different locations to ensure transparency.

Residents shared key concerns, including the need to upgrade roads for year-round access, expand market opportunities for agricultural products, and improve living conditions for ethnic communities.

Candidates expressed appreciation for the public’s participation and pledged to convey local concerns to relevant authorities. They also encouraged eligible citizens to take part in the upcoming vote.

Viengkham District comprises 72 villages with a population of 33,290, including 15,900 women. Authorities have established 74 polling stations to serve 16,583 eligible voters, including 8,062 women.
