President Thongloun Visits Modern Rice Mill Built with R. Korea’s Funding

ຂປລ On Jan 15, Party Secretary General and State President Thongloun Sisoulith visited a modern rice mill in Ban Nakhamnon, Songkhone District, Savannakhet Province.

(KPL) On Jan 15, Party Secretary General and State President Thongloun Sisoulith visited a modern rice mill in Ban Nakhamnon, Songkhone District, Savannakhet Province.

The mill is one of the initiatives implemented in Champhone and Songkhone districts under the Savannakhet Province Integrated Irrigated Agriculture and Rural Development Project.

The US$8 million rice mill can mill five tons of paddy rice per hour. It is also equipped with four rice dryers with a total drying capacity of 120 tons per day.

The Savannakhet Province Integrated Irrigated Agriculture and Rural Development Project is funded by a grant of US$46 million from the government of the Republic of Korea.

The project includes: construction of irrigation systems worth US$15.7 million, repair of the Aisui water gate worth US$32,000, rice field leveling worth US$1.88 million, construction of rural roads worth US$300,000 and a technical service center worth US$1 million, procurement of machinery worth US$500,000, and technical assistance worth US$8.8 million.
