(KPL) A direct flight route Vientiane, Laos and Yangon of Myanmar has been launched recently to provide another travel option during the Visit Laos Year 2024.
Mr. Aung Ko, Ambassador of Myanmar to Laos, said It is the first flight connecting Laos and Myanmar, it's marking an important milestone for the long-standing good relations between two countries.
The opening of direct flights between Yangon to Vientiane and Vientiane to Yangon is a good opportunity for local businesspeople and tourists to come together.
It is an effort to extend and develop cultural tourism, traditions and lifestyles of the people of the two nations which have a potential in economic-socio development, as a gateway within ASEAN and the international region.
The direct flight route between the two major cities of Laos and Myanmar will serve two flights per week: Tuesday and Thursday with large Airbus A319, 320 and Embraer E190 aircraft that can accommodate more than a hundred passengers.
