ຂປລ (KPL) Today, April 13 is the first of three days designated for the celebration of Lao New Year (Pi Mai Lao) B.E. 2567.

(KPL) Today, April 13 is the first of three days designated for the celebration of Lao New Year (Pi Mai Lao) B.E. 2567.

The celebration began in the morning as President Thongloun Sisoulith led high ranking officials in attending a religious ceremony held at the main hall of Simeuang Temple, one of well-known temples of the capital city.

At another place, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone joined high-profile officials and Vientiane residents in pouring perfumed water on Buddha statues at Ongtue Temple and Inpeng Temple.

Revered Buddha images will be paraded from and to Inpeng Temple along the Setthathirath Avenue so that the statues can be sprinkled with  perfumed water by Vientiane residents, and domestic and foreign visitors.

In addition, there will be an official opening ceremony for Lao New Year Festival B.E 2567 in the afternoon at Nam Phu and another one for Sethathilath Avenue (Inphang Temple – Nam Phu), and a market fair of handicrafts made by youth.
