(KPL) Princess Maha Chakri Srinthorn of Thailand arrived in Vientiane on January 12, to visit Laos in response to an invitation of Vice President Pany Yatortou and joined the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Huayxone-Huayxua Agricultural Development Service Center.

(KPL) Princess Maha Chakri Srinthorn of Thailand arrived in Vientiane on January 12, to visit Laos in response to an invitation of Vice President Pany Yatortou and joined the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Huayxone-Huayxua Agricultural Development Service Center.
The visit considers a significant contribution to strengthening the existing mutual understanding between Lao and Thai people and enhance good neighbour and the friendly relations and cooperation which has long been a strategic partnership for growth and sustainable development in various areas between Lao PDR and Thailand.
Vice President Pany and Thai Princess Srinthorn jointly cut the ribbon to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Huayxone-Huayxua Agricultural Development Service Center and visited the center's product exhibition, learning building, listened to a plan for the construction of a new auditorium, met some model families of the center and visited the agricultural produce of Naxaythong district as well as jointly planted a tree as a symbol.

Mr Phet Phomphipak, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry reported that Huayxone-Huayxua Agricultural Development Service Center is a significant project, which is a special cooperation project between Laos and Thailand, relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The goal of this center is to be a technical cooperation center on agricultural work with the transfer of theoretical and practical knowledge in the expansion of plants and animal varieties under the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

At present, the center has become a model center, a place to transfer knowledge and techniques to local farmers, entrepreneurs, students, as well as a place to produce and supply good plant-breeding seeds, which has made an important contribution to creating income and a career for people to escape from poverty.
Thai Princess Srinthorn also visited the ethnic and cultural school at KM 67, which has received various support from the project under Thai Princess's assistance since 1992.
She donated 2,735,300 baht for the construction of a teacher's office, a female dormitory and teaching equipment, presented gifts to five outstanding students of the school.
