New Minister of Labour takes office

ຂປລ (KPL) Governor of Luang Prabang Province Dr Khampheng Saysompheng has taken his new position as Minister of Labour and Social Welfare following the retirement Mrs Onchanh Thammavong. The assumption ceremony was held on 3 September at the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Bounpone Bouttanavong and relevant officials.

(KPL) Governor of Luang Prabang Province Dr Khampheng Saysompheng has taken his new position as Minister of Labour and Social Welfare following the retirement Mrs Onchanh Thammavong.

The assumption ceremony was held on 3 September at the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Bounpone Bouttanavong and relevant officials.

At the function, former Minister Mrs Onchanh highlighted her previous work since taking office in 2006.  She expressed that she had done her best to lead the ministry to further expand the traditional unity within the ministry, to continue to uphold the good image of the ministry, and to be a good coordinator with different sectors and local areas. All efforts have followed the Party’s policy and the role of ministry on the development of labour and social welfare.

On the occasion, the new Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Dr Khampheng Saysompheng pledged to continue supervising and developing the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare according to the Party’s policy, and to implement the national strategy for labour and social-welfare.
