Laos and Vietnam have celebrated 20 years of solidarity cooperation between their two central military hospitals, highlighting deepening ties and major achievements in medical development.
The anniversary ceremony, held on 27 November 2025 at Central Military Hospital 103 in Vientiane, brought together senior officials including Lt. General Vongsone Inpanphim, Deputy Minister of National Defence, and representatives from Vietnam’s Central Military Hospital 108.
Brigadier General Sawengxay Dalasad, Director of Hospital 103, said two decades of cooperation had forged a close and trusted partnership between the institutions. He noted that Hospital 108 had played a crucial role in strengthening clinical capacity in Laos by transferring experience and advanced medical techniques across a wide range of specialties.
These include intensive care management, endoscopy, dialysis, orthopaedic and neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, and modern cardiovascular interventions. Vietnamese experts have also supported improvements in hospital administration and service standards, helping elevate the overall quality of medical care.
At the ceremony, the Lao Government presented state honours to Hospital 108 and its personnel, including Friendship Medals, Labour Victory Medals, and Military Merit Medals awarded to dozens of officers in recognition of their contributions.
Lt. General Vongsone praised the achievements and urged both sides to continue strengthening political understanding and professional cooperation, reaffirming that the Laos–Vietnam special solidarity remains the foundation of the partnership between the two military hospitals.
