(KPL/Prensa Latina) Angola and China signed two legal instruments today for cooperation in health and economic partnership for development, reported the Foreign Ministry.

The signing took place in the context of the Ministerial Conference of Coordinators for the Implementation of the Results of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, held in Changsha, Hunan province, in China, in the presence of Angolan Foreign Minister Téte António.

The Protocol between the governments of Angola and China for the dispatch of a medical team to the African nation is aimed at “building a Community of Human Health” and deepening cooperation in this area, according to the Foreign Ministry’s statement.

This instrument specifies that the Chinese side will be responsible for sending a group of 12 specialists in fields specified by the Angolan side to the African country, whose mission will be to exchange experiences and provide medical assistance (except for medico-legal activities) to the population, in close collaboration with local health professionals.

“Both parties will urge hospitals to establish cooperative relationships, promote research and academic exchange, provide training, and offer free consultations and specialty development,” the document adds.

Meanwhile, the Framework Agreement on Economic Partnership for Shared Development seeks to establish closer ties and promote not only relations between China and Angola, but also between the Asian nation and the rest of the African countries.

It also aims to pursue inclusive growth by encouraging African manufacturing and agricultural transformation and modernization, improving the competitiveness of African countries in the global market, and supporting their integration into the global economy.

Furthermore, it seeks to promote international trade and investment to play an important role in promoting diversified economic transformation and high-quality development, as well as strengthening the capacity of African countries to produce and export high value-added products.
