(KPL) Following their participation in the 2025 RCEP Local Governments and Friendship Cities Cooperation (Huangshan) Forum on June 5 in Anhui Province, China, a delegation of 10 foreign journalists from ASEAN countries—part of the China International Press Communication Center in Beijing—embarked on a cultural and ecological tour of Anhui and Jiangsu provinces.

Ranked among China’s top-tier regions for socio-economic development, these provinces showcased their well-developed infrastructure, pristine environments, and commitment to cultural preservation and sustainable tourism.

Mr. Wen Liangquan, Director of the News and Culture Division at the Anhui Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, the journalists explored the breathtaking Huangshan Mountain Scenic Area, a UNESCO-listed cultural and natural heritage site spanning 160.6 square kilometers. Known for its dramatic granite peaks, ancient pine trees, and mist-shrouded vistas, Huangshan offered an immersive experience in one of China’s most iconic landscapes.

Throughout the ascent, the journalists observed meticulous environmental stewardship: well-maintained trails, zero litter, and protected vegetation—highlighting China’s stringent conservation policies. The area’s lush bamboo groves and centuries-old pines stood undisturbed, reflecting a harmonious balance between tourism and ecological preservation.

To reach the summit, visitors utilized an efficient electric cart system, followed by a hike along secure staircases with handrails, ensuring accessibility and safety. At the peak, the delegation was greeted by sweeping vistas, crisp mountain air, and the ethereal beauty of drifting clouds—a moment that left a profound impression.

“Experiencing Huangshan’s natural grandeur firsthand is transformative,” noted one journalist. “The combination of pristine wilderness and thoughtful infrastructure sets a global benchmark for sustainable tourism.”

Mr. Thanousin Itthiphon, a journalist from Luang Prabang Provincial Radio and Television Channel, said he was truly proud to visit Huangshan City, where he received a warm welcome from the relevant authorities and experienced the kindness of the Anhui people. He especially appreciated the natural beauty of the area—mountains covered in lush greenery, misty clouds, gentle breezes, and the vibrant atmosphere created by visiting tourists.

The visit underscored Huangshan’s dual legacy as a natural wonder and a cultural treasure, leaving the journalists with lasting memories—and a compelling story to share with the world.
