(KPL) A returning student from UK has tested positive for Covid-19, taking the total to 12. On Mar 22, the student, 20, a resident of Naxay village, Saysettha district, Vientiane Capital flew from Heathrow Airport, London, and had an overnight transit stop in Bangkok, Thailand. She left Bangkok for the Lao PDR on Mar 23. Once she arrived in Laos, she wasn’t self quarantined right away but stayed at home in Naxay. On the following day she was self-quarantined at her garden home. Apr 5 she developed some symptoms including sore throat, shortness of breath, but no fever. She visited Mittaphab Hospital and tested positive for Covid-19 on the same day. Samples of 17 infected suspects were collected for Covid-19 test yesterday. These included 12 from Vientiane Capital and 5 from provinces, according to Dr. Phouthone Meuangpak.
