Oudomxay Discusses Compensating Families Affected by Laos-China Railway

KPL (KPL) Representatives of the Oudomxay Provincial Public Works and Transport Department and relevant authorities met in the province on Jan 5 to discuss the rate of compensation for families affected by the Laos-China Railway project.

(KPL) Representatives of the Oudomxay Provincial Public Works and Transport Department and relevant authorities met in the province on Jan 5 to discuss the rate of compensation for families affected by the Laos-China Railway project. 

The meeting was held in the presence of Mr. Somkeo Manyvanh, Head of Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Department, and representatives from District and Provincial Party Committee and relevant organisations.

The Laos-China Railway, which is 417 kilometres, will have about 126.6 kilometres lying in Oudomxay, running through three districts of Namor, Xay and Nga. Three stations will be built in Oudomxay.

Some 953 families in forty one villages in the province will reportedly be affected by the Laos-China Railway Project.
