For the annual That Luang Stupa Worship Festival and Trade Fair 2025, scheduled to take place from November 1 to 5, the Security Subcommittee under the Vientiane Capital Public Security Command will deploy more than 2,000 officers to ensure public safety and maintain order throughout the celebration. The deployment aims to safeguard the event while upholding the fine culture and traditions of the Lao nation.
(KPL) For the annual That Luang Stupa Worship Festival and Trade Fair 2025, scheduled to take place from November 1 to 5, the Security Subcommittee under the Vientiane Capital Public Security Command will deploy more than 2,000 officers to ensure public safety and maintain order throughout the celebration. The deployment aims to safeguard the event while upholding the fine culture and traditions of the Lao nation.
Brigadier General Bouaphanh Phongmany, Head of the Vientiane Capital Public Security Command, reported that a total of 2,015 personnel will be assigned to security operations for this year’s festival. The forces will be divided into two main groups those stationed at the That Luang Festival grounds and those deployed at the Lao-ITECC Exhibition Center.
In addition, traffic police will be positioned at major intersections and checkpoints to manage traffic flow, while security units will be stationed at key entry and exit points across Vientiane Capital. Police officers in all nine districts and at various offices will also be on standby to respond promptly to any emergency situations that may arise during the festival period.
Brigadier General Bouaphanh emphasized that the coordinated efforts of all forces are essential to ensure the success, safety, and peaceful atmosphere of this year’s That Luang Festival and Trade Fair.
