(KPL) The Health Statistics and Information Center, Ministry of Health together with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) organized a training course on sexual health and reproductive health for local media.
The training course was held in Vientiane on Nov 14, in presence of Deputy Director of the Health Information and Statistics Center, Mr. InpongThongprachan, and country coordinator of the reproductive health program of UNFPA, Ms. Siriphon Sakunkou.
Attendees have learned about sexual health and reproductive health such as family planning, contraception, care for pregnant women, sex education, a reporting news on sexual health and reproductive health, analysis of appropriate and inappropriate reporting news.
The seminar is aims to make the media aware and understand more about this work, in order to spread the word to the society, as well as the people in the whole country are aware of the correct sexual health and reproductive health information leading to strong health.
Family planning can help in deciding whether to have children or not. There are many types of birth control such as the pill, acupuncture, intrauterine devices, condom, and others.
In addition, family planning also includes information on how to get pregnant when the time comes, as well as treatment for infertility.
