(KPL) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and business sectors from Laos and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), hosted the State-Private Sector Consultation Forum to bolster economic ties between the two nations.
The forum was attended by Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, who highlighted the importance of advancing Laos' economic diplomacy policy. The event provided a platform for dialogue, experience-sharing, and the promotion of business cooperation, trade, and investment opportunities between Laos and the Middle East.
A primary focus of the forum was attracting UAE and Middle Eastern investment into key sectors in Laos to drive economic growth and development. It also served as a preparatory step toward the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Laos and the UAE in 2026, aiming to strengthen their economic and trade partnership.
More than 50 leading companies from Laos and the UAE, along with over 80 business representatives, participated in discussions on collaboration opportunities, investment incentives, and strategies to boost bilateral trade and investment flows.
The successful conclusion of the forum represents a significant step forward in Laos-UAE relations, laying the groundwork for enhanced economic cooperation and mutual benefits in the years ahead.
