Digital Transformation Committee holds its first meeting

ຂປລ (KPL) The first meeting of the National Committee on Digital Transformation of Laos was held on Aug 3 at the Prime Minister’s Office under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, who chairs the national committee.

(KPL) The first meeting of the National Committee on Digital Transformation of Laos was held on Aug 3 at the Prime Minister’s Office under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, who chairs the national committee.

Attending the meeting included Deputy Prime Ministers, members of the National Committee on Digital Transformation, ministers and relevant officials. 

At the meeting, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone urged relevant ministries to make sure all activity plans and projects are in line with the National Digital Economic Development Vision, strategy and plan and development strategy of each sector so that they can be approved as priorities for now through 2025.

Briefing the participants about digital transformation in Laos, Minister of Technology and Communications Boviengkham Vongdara highlighted the importance and urgent need of bringing digital technology use into all areas of socio-economic development and management of Party and government works, as well as in business operations and the living conditions of the entire society in order to make production and production relations more efficient and with better new quality.

“Digitization in our country constitutes an important revolutionary mission to industrialize and modernize according to the guidance of our Party and to advance the socio-economic development of our country in the future and for a long time, which have to carry out deeply in 3 aspects that are related to each other including: building digital economy, digital society and digital government,” said Minister Boviengkham.
