Laos’ exports under GSP reaches US$1.3 billion

ຂປລ (KPL) Laos’ value of exports under Generalised System of Preferences in 2019 reached US$1,300 million, representing 22.65% of the total export of the country. The figures included US$361 million worth of exports to Thailand, US$322 million to China and US$312 million to Vietnam, according to the Department of Import and Export, Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

(KPL) Laos’ value of exports under Generalised System of Preferences in 2019 reached US$1,300 million, representing 22.65% of the total export of the country.

The figures included US$361 million worth of exports to Thailand, US$322 million to China and US$312 million to Vietnam, according to the Department of Import and Export, Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Last year, the value of imports under the GSP programme was around US$665 million, representing 11.60% of the total import of 5.740 million with Thailand ranking the largest import market for Laos, followed by China and Vietnam.

Laos imported around US$380 million in goods from Thailand, US$98 million from China, and US$86 million from Vietnam.
