(KPL) A technical training workshop on news production was held on Feb 24, 2026, in Keo-Oudom District, Vientiane Province, hosted by Lao National Radio.
The event was attended by Ms. Simmany Keokaen, Director General of Lao National Radio, and Mr. Viengvatthana Chanaphane, Deputy Director General and Head of the Confucius Classroom, along with trainers and participants from five Confucius Classrooms.
Speaking at the opening session, Ms. Simmany Keokaen emphasized the importance of modernizing news production to meet the demands of rapid communication and increasing media competition. She highlighted the need for journalists and media personnel to strengthen practical skills in information gathering, interviewing, news writing, photography, videography and editing to ensure content remains accurate, timely and responsive to public needs.
The training aims to enhance professional capacity and deepen participants’ understanding of fundamental reporting and media editing techniques through both theoretical instruction and practical exercises. The workshop will continue through Feb 26, 2026.
